Smash Burger, aka – a 70s Skillet Fried Hamburger

This is the only way I had hamburgers growing up. My mother always pan fried hamburgers. Now, a Smash Burger is all the rage. Maybe she needed a food truck back then vs. raising pigs & cows. Regardless, I was eating Michelin rated hamburgers and didn’t even know it.

These are (80/20) 4oz patties smashed down flat with the back of a plate (genius). I only used Kosher Salt, Black Pepper, and Garlic Powder.

Top bun, bacon, lettuce, black wax cheddar cheese facing down, and several dill pickles with ketchup & mustard! DPH, this IS the $$$ burger… 😉
